BYLAW FOR FELLOW MEMBERSHIP OF AIMERS (Artificial Intelligence Medical and Engineering Researchers Society)
Article 1: Title and Objective
This document shall be known as the “Bylaw for Fellow Membership of AIMERS (Artificial Intelligence Medical and Engineering Researchers Society)”. It sets forth the framework, eligibility, roles, responsibilities, privileges, and termination procedures for the conferral of Fellow Membership. The objective of establishing this category is to formally recognize individuals with exceptional expertise and contributions in the domains of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Medicine, Engineering, Cybersecurity, and related interdisciplinary fields.
Fellow Membership is intended to honor individuals such as researchers, professionals, academicians, industry leaders, innovators, and students who have significantly influenced the advancement of science, technology, innovation, and education. It acknowledges those who embody the mission and vision of AIMERS in promoting responsible AI, interdisciplinary collaboration, and impactful application of knowledge.
Article 2: Definition of Fellow Membership
A Fellow Member is the highest class of membership within AIMERS, awarded to individuals who have achieved distinction through sustained contributions to their field, demonstrated leadership in academia or industry, and actively supported the initiatives and growth of AIMERS.
Fellow Members may include:
- Senior Researchers and Scientists with extensive publication and innovation records.
- Academic Leaders such as Professors, Deans, or Research Heads with curriculum and institutional impact.
- Industry Professionals and Innovators who have applied AI or engineering to solve real-world problems.
- Policy Experts and Thought Leaders influencing national or international AI and medical standards.
- Exceptional Students and Early-Career Professionals recognized for groundbreaking research, social innovation, or entrepreneurship in AI and allied disciplines.
Article 3: Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements to be considered for Fellow Membership:
- Tenure of Involvement:
- Must have been an active member of AIMERS or participated in its activities (conferences, trainings, research collaborations) for at least three (3) years.

- Research and Academic Excellence:
- A strong portfolio of peer-reviewed publications, patents, book authorships, or citations in fields such as AI, biomedical innovation, robotics, IoT, and cybersecurity.
- Active role in curriculum development, teaching innovation, or academic administration.

- Professional and Industrial Achievements:
- Leadership in developing AI-based products, platforms, or services.
- Founding or scaling AI startups or technology enterprises with measurable impact.

- Service to AIMERS:
- Organized or actively contributed to AIMERS events, workshops, competitions, or international collaborations.
- Mentored students, conducted training sessions, or reviewed research initiatives under the AIMERS umbrella.

- Nominations and Endorsements:
- Endorsed by at least two current Fellow Members or directly recommended by the Executive Council of AIMERS based on meritorious achievements.

Article 4: Admission Procedure
- Submission of Nomination:
- Candidate or nominating Fellows must submit a detailed Fellow Nomination Form, along with a professional resume/CV, statement of contributions, and supporting documents.

- Review and Evaluation:
- The Fellowship Evaluation Committee, comprising experts from academia and industry, shall assess applications based on criteria such as impact factor, innovation, leadership, and service to AIMERS.

- Approval Process:
- A minimum of two-thirds (2/3) majority of the Executive Council is required to approve the nomination.
- Upon acceptance, the Fellow shall receive a formal invitation and shall be publicly recognized at an AIMERS Flagship Event or Annual General Assembly.

Article 5: Rights and Privileges of Fellow Members
Fellow Members of AIMERS shall enjoy the following benefits:
- Prestige and Recognition:
- Entitlement to use the post-nominal title “F.AIMERS”.
- Highlighted profile on the AIMERS website and publications.

- Leadership Opportunities:
- Eligibility to serve on Advisory Boards, Committees, and Editorial Boards of AIMERS journals or research initiatives.

- Priority invitations to speak, chair, or lead sessions at conferences, hackathons, and symposia.

Article 6: Duties and Responsibilities
All Fellow Members must:
- Uphold AIMERS Values:
- Promote ethical, inclusive, and responsible AI and engineering practices.

- Contribute Actively:
- Engage in AIMERS programs, mentor student members, and support institutional partnerships.

- Foster Research and Learning:
- Participate in publishing, reviewing, and dissemination of knowledge through AIMERS channels.

- Help identify and nurture young researchers, developers, and innovators.

Article 7: Termination of Membership
Fellow Membership may be terminated for the following reasons:
- Voluntary Resignation:
- Submission of a formal resignation letter to the Executive Council.

- Prolonged Inactivity:
- No recorded participation in AIMERS activities for a period of two consecutive years.

- Misconduct or Breach of Ethics:
- Verified involvement in unethical practices, academic fraud, or professional misconduct.

- Non-payment of Dues (if applicable in future):
- Failure to fulfill financial obligations even after multiple reminders.

Article 8: Appeals and Reinstatement
- A terminated member (except for voluntary resignation) may file an appeal within 30 days of termination.
- The Appeals Committee shall review the matter within 60 days and make recommendations to the General Body.
- Reinstatement requires majority approval of the Executive Council.
Article 9: Honorary Fellow Membership
AIMERS may confer Honorary Fellow Membership to distinguished individuals who, while not regular members, have demonstrated exceptional contributions to AI, engineering, medical innovation, or societal impact. Honorary Fellows enjoy all Fellow privileges except voting rights.
Article 10: Amendment to Bylaw
Any amendment to this bylaw must be proposed in writing and circulated to the Executive Council at least 7 days in advance. A two-thirds majority is required to adopt the proposed amendment.
Effective Date
This bylaw shall be effective upon ratification by the Executive Council of AIMERS and shall remain binding until further amended or repealed.
