Participation Type
Participants can enter the competition with the following approaches:
- Build Robots from Scratch:
- Design and construct robots using custom-made components.
- Showcase innovation and engineering skills by developing solutions from the ground up.
- Incorporate your choice of motors, sensors, microcontrollers, and AI models for unique functionality.
- Assemble Robots Using Pre-Built Kits:
- Assemble robots using commercially available kits.
- Enhance pre-built robots with custom programming and sensors to demonstrate advanced capabilities.
- Programmable Robots:
- Robots programmed to execute complex tasks autonomously are highly encouraged.
- Demonstrate tasks such as object detection, navigation, obstacle avoidance, and decision-making powered by AI.
Note: The competition is designed to encourage creativity and problem-solving, whether building robots from scratch or assembling them from kits. Projects must showcase technical prowess and functionality to stand out.
Rules
- Robot Behavior and Responsibility:
- Participants are responsible for the behavior and operation of their robots during the competition.
- Robots must operate safely, avoiding harm or damage to other participants, devices, or event infrastructure.
- Teams are liable for any damages caused by their robots to people, property, or other devices.
- No Damage Policy:
- Damaging other robots is strictly prohibited.
- Participants who cause intentional or unintentional damage to other robots during tasks, races, or demonstrations will face penalties or disqualification.
- Safe Operations:
- Drones, autonomous vehicles, or other devices must be equipped with safety mechanisms, such as collision avoidance systems.
- Responsibility for Damages:
- Any damage caused by the participant’s robot, either to event property or to other participants, will be the sole responsibility of the respective team or individual.
- Race Conduct:
- During any competitive races or challenges, participants must ensure their robots adhere to the rules and do not intentionally interfere with others.
Autonomy
- Preference for Autonomous Devices:
- Autonomous devices capable of operating independently without human intervention will be prioritized during evaluations.
- The goal is to demonstrate systems that perceive, decide, and act independently based on AI algorithms.
- No Remote Operations Allowed:
- Remotely operated robots or devices controlled by external devices (e.g., RC controllers or mobile phones) are not permitted.
- AI Model Flexibility:
- Participants may use any AI models, frameworks, and programming languages. Examples include:
- Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, and ROS.
- Participants may use any AI models, frameworks, and programming languages. Examples include:
- Sensor Integration:
- Participants can integrate any sensors to enhance their projects, such as:
- LiDAR, ultrasound, infrared, cameras, temperature sensors, and more.
- Participants can integrate any sensors to enhance their projects, such as:
- Device Dimensions:
- Robots exceeding 1 foot (12 inches) in any dimension must receive prior approval from event organizers.
Event Rules
- Presentation and Demonstration:
- Teams must prepare a 10-minute presentation explaining their project, focusing on the problem, solution, and technical approach.
- A 5-minute live demonstration of the project’s functionality is mandatory.
- Setup and Facilities:
- Participants are responsible for assembling and setting up their robots on-site.
- Basic facilities, including electricity and internet, will be provided.
- Time Management:
- Teams must adhere to the schedule for setup, presentations, and demonstrations. Late entries may result in disqualification.
